Mornington Community Network Boccia Day 21 August
Join us for the Mornington Community Network ‘Come n’ Try Boccia Day’ on 21 August – hosted by Boccia Australia’s Ethan Horan.
Ethan Horan from Boccia Australia is kindly hosting the Mornington Community Network and we’re stoked to learn all about this very inclusive sport.
As you may have seen in the Paralympics, both Jamieson Leeson and Daniel Michel won silver medals in Boccia. Boccia is an indoor bowling game that requires strategy and accuracy rather than strength, and is played socially and competitively. The objective is to throw or use a ramp device to propel leather balls as close as possible to a white ball which serves as the target. The game can be played in pairs or in teams.
Family, friends, carers and new members are welcome – please RSVP if you’re coming.
Play will start at 11.30am (sharp) at the Somerville Recreation Centre followed by lunch at 12.45pm at the Somerville Hotel around the corner.
