South West Network Come n’ Try Boccia 23 July
Come join us for Boccia! Ethan Horan from Boccia Australia has offered to host us for a Come ‘n Try Boccia Day on 23 July – we’re stoked to learn all about this very inclusive sport.
As you may have seen in the Paralympics, both Jamieson Leeson and Daniel Michel won silver medals in Boccia. Boccia is an indoor bowling game that requires strategy and accuracy rather than strength, and is played socially and competitively. The objective is to throw or use a ramp device to propel leather balls as close as possible to a white ball which serves as the target. The game can be played in pairs or in teams.
We will start play at 11.30am sharp at the Basketball Court in the DA Building within the DeakinACTIVE facilities followed by lunch at 12.30pm at the uni cafeteria onsite.
As always, family, friends and carers are welcome. Please remember to RSVP if you’re coming.
